In today’s dynamic business environment, companies must invest in their workforce to stay competitive and innovative.

The Minpac Group of Companies exemplifies this approach, due to the high demand of development in the building construction industry in Papua New Guinea through its commitment to employing and certifying trainees.

Minpac’s Training Program is a cornerstone of its human resource development strategy. By bringing on board trainees under the Training Pilot Program, the company has tapped into the training space, creating an avenue for greater developments in skills training and certification for the workforce.

The Training Pilot Program commenced in 2023 for the purpose of providing trainees (beginners into the building construction industry) with the basic skills, knowledge and resources to lead them on a career pathway, the trainees to be exposed to all facets of the business, inclusive of the buddy-system with the well-experienced workers, understanding standard work procedures in the building process, standard workmanship and safety requirements which greatly enhances the learning cycle.

The training model is on workplace-based training that allows the trainees to undertake both theory classes and practical work on a live construction site.

This training model has a high success rate compared to mainstream TVET training by registered training institutions under the National Training Council and DHERST (Department of Higher Education Research, Science and Technology).

Minpac Group of Companies is an equal opportunity provider in all its business operations. The training program was designed with a focus on GEDSI (Gender Equity Disability and Social Inclusion) which is a key component in every business or organization today.

This allows females and persons with disability the opportunity to participate in this milestone program to be the change within the workforce and their communities.

Additionally, while the GEDSI program aims to promote and implement equity and inclusion within the training program, it aims to foster a safe and inclusive work environment for all.

To keep up with standards and best practices in the workplace, Minpac commits to maintain quality and excellence in a skilled, certified and motivated workforce which are crucial to keep a competitive edge in the construction industry. Well-trained employees are more likely to drive innovation, improve efficiency, and uphold high standards of performance.

In conclusion, the Minpac Group of Companies demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to human resource management through its trainee programs and certification practices and set benchmarks in training to a higher level. By nurturing young talent and equipping them with relevant skills and credentials, Minpac not only supports the career growth of individuals but also strengthens its own organizational capabilities.

This investment in talent development ultimately contributes to the company’s enduring success and leadership in the construction industry.

Blood Drive Donation

On Monday 15th of July 2024, Minpac Group of Companies proudly organised a blood drive donation event to support both its valued employee, Late George Tipping, and the Port Moresby General Hospital’s Blood Bank.

This initiative reflects Minpac’s commitment to the well-being of its team members and the wider community.

By coming together to donate blood, employees and local residents will not only aid Late George Tipping in his time of need but also contribute to the vital reserves of the hospital’s blood bank, helping to ensure that critical medical resources are readily available for those in urgent need.

In addition to this vital contribution, the company donated a small office HP Printer to the hospital’s blood bank team.
